5:30AM We’re raiding refrigerators – we don’t have enough food for an outreach today. But we can’t let that stop us. There are clusters of homeless down by the river who are hungry and who have no immediate access to food or water. We’re scrounging refrigerators right now. We’ll try to help them.
Cold, chilly feet and heads – some sleep on sidewalks. Some sleep sitting up. We ask why. Some say it’s easier to escape danger when you’re sitting up. We have emergency survival blankets and will hand them out.
No baths or showers – months pass so we’re told without regular bathing. People having to walk three blocks just to get to a toilet, then told they can’t use it. We see lots of tears sometimes, and despair.
Broken souls – the ones who’ve always been strong are giving up. It’s why we go out; it’s why we care. It is why we need your help….
