Lost Souls

telling it like it is – we’re not going to sugarcoat it!

You see someone covered in filth and vomit. You drop everything, go out in the pouring rain and spend close to $100 on new shoes and clothes. You return the next day and see them wearing the same filthy garments and footwear; they swapped what you got for them. They exchanged everything for a fix, so they could shoot up.

You spend hours preparing snack packages and other items for a camp. They’re supposed to be sharing with each other. They don’t. Some get nothing!

Then you say to yourself: ‘Is this worth it?’ And, you think to yourself, ‘No wonder these people are marginalized.’

This is the face of addiction combined with homelessness. It’s not a pretty picture. Is it worth helping these folks? YOU BET IT IS! Is it right to marginalize them. NO IT IS NOT!

These precious souls are lost. They’re still Children of God and they need all the help they can get. We’re there or them, others are there for them, too, and God Bless them.
