We know that affordable housing plays a major role in homelessness. And we applaud the initiatives of groups and individuals who advocate for it.
From time to time, we might make comments about ways that we think the issue of affordable housing might be resolved, and those comments might engender responses and calls to action. However, given that we are a small organization with very limited human and financial resources, we cannot engage in affordable housing advocacy in any substantive way.
Our mission is dedicated to an outreach offering assistance to unhoused individuals living outdoors in the elements and until we get more to work with, that’s what we need to focus on. If people have the desire to get involved in advocating for affordable housing, we encourage them to do so. There are advocacy groups to join, tons of articles on the web to get ideas from. Get involved. Make a difference.
