In addition to serving the greater Manchester area of New Hampshire we work in the Seacoast area and in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region.
Yesterday, we came across a young homeless guy in the City of Rochester. He had no food or shelter. One of our volunteers gave him enough money to buy a breakfast, something that as a policy we don’t do because our experience is that such money is often used to purchase drugs or alcohol. But, this person was very hungry so we bent the rules.
We offered to give him a tent, tarp and some blankets because he said he was living in the woods without shelter. As is often the case, we get items of need for these folks who say that they’ll stay in place until we return but, when we go back, they are gone. Oh well, at least we tried. Someone else will benefit from what we got.
It’s a tough economy right now and the difficulties in getting donations have gotten worse. We hope that you’ll consider making a donation to us as we cannot continue without more financial support.
